I am asking because i will have my private roto, comercial roto and CFI roto by this winter and want to fly something to build hours. i plan on putting in for the avaition unit were i work and would like to go there with a bunch of hours. thanks John Snider Posted 7/24/2010 9:12 PM Subject: RE: PIC time NE USA Distributor Owner MXE 1015 N12PR Posts: 46 Location: Indiana Yes, you can log the time as long as the helicopter has an Experimental-Amatuer Built airworthiness certificate and a Registration number. You cannot log the time if it is an "ultralight". IF THEY ARE FLYING JET POWERED HELICOPTERS, THEY MIGHT WANT YOU TO HAVE JET TIME, ALOT OF IT USUALLY 1500 HOURS MINIMUM DUE TO INSURANCE PURPOSES. For instance; if you have been taught "Limited Power Operations" during your CPL training but have only 10-20 minutes experience in this very important area, you can go out and practice, practice PRACTICE!
