We know you are itching to be the first to own a Mosquito in your town so
they are giving you the opportunity to win one.
Purchase a 'square'on their 'tiles' page,(around US$37) replace the 'square' with your Logo or Picture, add your link and be in the draw to win your own Mosquito XEL, plus $10,000 in flight training.
Dwight and I are planning to arrive Sunday to set up the Mosquito HQ in the helicopter / ultralight area. We are bringing the AIR and either a New XEL or the XET. We look forward to seeing our old friends and of course meeting new ones. But, I have to say...it will not be the same without our good friend Eddy Thompson. Best Regards, Paul Grieshaber, Mooresville NC
I will be there again. I would like to bring my ship, but I have a camper in tow. I have an extra bed for someone to stay if needed. Accepting riders too from Bloomington, IN. Dave

Hi Everyone!!
I will be flying my xel into AirVenture, all 15 miles of it. LoL
For you first timers, or anyone else who wants to end up at the (RED BARN) close to where Dwight and Paul will be setting up the mosquito camp (also ultra lite area). This will be the shortest way to go, US 41 north take EXT 113 WI 26 turn right (east) merge to the left lane as soon as possiable at about 400 to 600 feet turn LEFT (north) on POBEREZNY rd, at about another 300 to 500 feet (just guessing) TURN RIGHT (east) on WAUPUN RD this road will take you to the red barn.
Leo,
I guess that means that your tacho is faring well. Wish I could say the same. Rotor side is great as always.
But engine side is still iffy. It underreads, so I add a capacitor. Then it overreads, so I add a resistor. And it jitters around, either way (sigh)
Jon Davis, (of Digilin), builder of my digital tach lives only a 20 minute flight away, and I'll be seeing him soon.
Hey enjoy yourselves at Oshkosh guys! Wish I was there. Wish Eddy was too.....
Rob 1!
Alison and I plan to arrive this Monday morning (a week early) to help set up the Vintage area. We hope this will allow us to spend more time seeing than working the show, for a change. I'll probably cut back on the number of shifts I drive the Vintage Tram, but still help Geoff Downey during the Rotorcraft time at the Ultralight Field, and spend more time in the Mosquito booth.
With any luck, we'll have enough knowledgeable folks holding down the Mosquito fort that Dwight can take a couple of hours off and actually see some of Airventure for a change...
Hope to see you all there, sometime during the week!
I'm arriving Tuesday the 27th and staying the rest of the week with my 2 kids in tow. We're staying off site in a private house. I'd like to meet you guys and get a chance to see one up close but they are always parked inside the ultralight area and you're never allowed to cross the rope. Of course everyone is friendly here on the site but when you're with thousands of other people gawking in the crowd it makes sense to keep us all at bay for trust and safety. Will anyone have one available to look over outside that area? I'd really like to get some photo's of one close up this year. Is there any get together of any type so we can all actually meet each other?
Paul, I will be there all week as well as Dwight and John Uptigrove. We should have a minimum of 4 Mosquitoes there available for your inspection. We always keep the aircraft at the booth where people are able to see them up close and only wheel them to the flight side of the fence when we are going to fly them which is generally around the noon hour time frame so you should get plenty of opportunity to get up close.
WOW! This is great. What an inspirational story. Kudos to him and makes me think more of flying to Trenton and Oshkosh. WOW! WOW! WOW! Thanks for sharing this. Dave
Thank you regis:
This man said it for all of us. He has followed his dream. Such a good interview. He seems to evoke emotion in every word. What a great inspiration. Dave
Thanks for him Dave, he's a really great man. I fight with him since three years to get Ultralights rules in France for helicopters, that's starting this october... He was waiting for it since 7 years !! Later, Regis
I posted some pictures - there is a picture of the 4cycle on John U's machine in them its been mounted but not run very long as there's been issues to be worked out with any first time proof of principle -- The trek started Friday mid day with Dwight starting at the factory with Paul G with two truck towing the air and the turbine. They drove up to Georgia and picked up LaDon and then over to my house to spend the night. Saturday morning we hit the road hard for the remaining 700 plus miles. Got in late Sat night and spent the night at a truck stop. Chip was already here as a volunteer. We stayed at the truck stop till Monday morning as we couldn't get into the vendors area as it had been raining hard for days and the place was under water making it soft and muddy. Gary Dahlm joined up at the truck stop with his machine followed by John Snider and John Uptigrove. Monday we got in and started setting up and end up having to get towed into place. Tue morning we finally got the last tent up. We had aircraft in the air between 12 and 2 each day. Tue there was a crash on the active Jack Rousch's jet. Later in the evening we had the dinner around the camp fire night which was followed by high winds and storms that turned tents over and wrecked havoc on the vendor area and camp sites. By Wed we had Leo fly in as he lives close by. From the Mosquito family - I've seen Tom Curl, Derrik Larson, Darwin Berry, Kym Morgan, Mark Klair, Dave Junkins, Steve Vault, I might have missed a few - I'll try and get more out later
The turbine in the pictures is not Clives it is the very first turbine built and the owner is looking to sell it == specs on the 4 cycle - it is a Hexadyne P60 (I think) don't have any to many spec's on it do know its a 60 shp and should work = its so new its only run for about 5 minutes, and there's been issues with the starter engagement it is truly a R&D proof of concept model - a whole lot of testing has yet to be accomplished and very much an unknown at the moment -- the numbers look good on paper but lot of "issues" to be resolved before anything is proven lots of hours to be spent before acceptance and fielding
Hey Mike,
Yea I knew the one you guys had at the show was Dwight's original turbine but I thought the one that Regis was asking about was Clives. He said something about the owner coming to France and I was thinking that Clive might be relocation there. Anyway, I hope you guys are having fun.
After OshKosh he flew over home John Uptigrove, in Canada, where everybody help him, even the police to get refueling ! Then Alaska, Bering, and Russia... After 500 mi he encountered a little mecanical problem and had to land, in siberian toundra in middle of nowhere... The Russian army had saved him with a MI-8... After 3 weeks of troubles for penetration of russian space without autorisation... He is finaly back to home since yesterday, yep!!
We will see, now, how to get back the machine to France...
